Bill payment services are a logical extension of Advantage's complete lifecycle expenditure management service, which covers invoice, inventory, and contract management. This new product minimizes administrative hassles for clients while lowering late fees, interest charges, and sudden disconnections for nonpayment.

Payable information gets aggregated into files that are transferred to the bill payment engine for disbursement, after which payments get automatically distributed to suppliers based on supplier enrollment choice (e.g., Virtual Credit Card, ACH, Enhanced ACH, Check, etc.). Settlement data is then collected in a compressed file and returned to Advantage's Command CenterSM portal for complete client visibility.

The regulator said it began allowing competitors across Canada to use the largest telephone companies’ fiber networks to sell internet services in February 2025. Changes in broadband policy are influencing how infrastructure owners plan and invest in their networks. Large operators may need to balance continued investment in fiber upgrades with new wholesale access requirements. At the same time, smaller providers may have more opportunities to reach customers without building every segment of the last mile themselves. Fiber infrastructure services in Canada are gaining stronger importance as public funding and private investment continue to push broadband networks into rural, remote and Indigenous communities. A national connectivity goal is shaping the market, but the work itself depends on contractors, engineering teams, permitting support and long-haul network builders. The CRTC’s Broadband Fund remains a major driver. The regulator says its fund is designed to help ensure Canadians have access to reliable high-speed internet and cellphone services regardless of where they live, with emphasis on underserved rural, remote and Indigenous communities. The fourth call for applications is open until August 13, 2026. This creates ongoing demand for fiber infrastructure service providers that can manage difficult builds. Rural fiber projects often require long routes, sparse customer density, weather exposure and coordination with local authorities. The economics are different from urban builds, where more customers can be served across shorter distances. The CRTC has already allocated about $769 million to broadband projects that serve more than 54,000 homes across more than 320 communities. It also says the fund has supported nearly 6,000 kilometers of fiber construction across the country. These figures show why fiber construction remains part of Canada’s wider infrastructure agenda. The Government of Canada is also continuing to use the Universal Broadband Fund to expand access. A June 2026 announcement for Manitoba described new rural and remote broadband funding and repeated the federal commitment to ensure every household in Canada has access to high-speed internet by 2030. For service providers, the opportunity is not limited to cable installation. Projects require route design, pole attachment coordination, trenching, splicing, testing and restoration. Providers that can handle both engineering and field execution may be better positioned when funding programs move from approval to construction. Building networks in Indigenous communities involves much more than engineering and construction. Success depends on working closely with communities, understanding local priorities and adapting plans to the realities of the landscape. In remote areas, geography, access and community needs can all shape how a project moves forward. Technical expertise remains essential, but it is rarely enough on its own. Meaningful engagement and collaboration are just as important to delivering projects that work for the communities they are intended to serve. Labor and permitting remain constraints. Fiber construction can slow when municipalities, utilities and contractors are not aligned. Providers that can manage approvals and field schedules efficiently will help projects move faster. Building fiber networks in Canada increasingly requires expertise beyond construction. As more projects are supported by public funding, infrastructure owners also need partners who understand reporting obligations, compliance milestones and the accountability that comes with government investment.
